Rebecca Powers, LCSW
Rebecca is a licensed LCSW who specializes in working with children, adolescents, and young adults. Rebecca's clinical interests include emotional regulation, family relationships, and working with young children to address behavioral concerns. Rebecca is also passionate about working with the LGBTQ+ community and supporting those with anxiety, depression, and concerns related to self-identity and life transitions.
Rebecca uses a client-centered therapeutic approach to help guide and support clients on their individual healing journeys. She is highly relational and focuses on building a strong, caring, and empathetic relationship with each client. In the therapy space, clients are encouraged to be their authentic selves, and Rebecca matches the pace and needs of each client as they progress and grow.
Meeting each client where they’re at, Rebecca uses a variety of tools throughout the therapeutic process. With adolescents and adults, she uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and with children, she utilizes Child-Centered Play Therapy—collaborating with the family to make sure they are supported throughout the process. Children who work with Rebecca often leave sessions feeling like they were able to have fun while acquiring new insights and skills.
Rebecca received her Bachelor's in Social Work from Illinois State University and her Master's in Social Work from Loyola University.
