LGBTQ+ Individuals
Finding a therapist that feels like the right fit can be a daunting task as having a space that allows us to show up as our full selves requires finding a provider that we can trust will be affirming of our identity. When we are unable to develop trust with our provider, it can be difficult to feel safe showing up as our fully authentic selves, as well as to communicate our needs, goals, and experiences.
At Brave Talk, we have a deep commitment to providing validating and affirming support to our clients who are a part of the LGBTQIA+ community as they explore their sexuality and gender identities. Additionally, we recognize the impact that systemic oppression and homophobic and transphobic discrimination stemming from an individual’s immediate and larger community has on their mental health and self-esteem. Brave Talk clinicians practice from an anti-oppressive lens that allows them to validate and assist their clients with safely addressing their lived experiences.
